Hi, I'm Mia

I’m a writer, day-job-quitter, and dream-chaser.

This is the story of how a girl-woman (me!) changed her life in middleage. One day she looked around at all the things she no longer loved–job, community, mortgage, definitely JOB–and decided to change everything.

What's your story?

Welcome!

This is a documenting of one writer's journey, the story of a woman changing her life in middle age.

No matter who you are or what stage of life you're in, your presence here as a reader puts you into my story. The bigger story includes all of us together, crisscrossing lives & experiences throughout The Human Story.

New Season, Starting Over

✦ I turned 50 and began questioning everything I thought I believed about Life

✦ Why am I here? What do I really enjoy? What do I want to do with the rest of my life?

✦ I did all the grownup stuff that was expected of me & now I'm ready to play

✦ What about YOU?

We matter much more than we realize

Adulthood can feel like a mad dash. Rushing to keep up with commitments– our finances, family life, socializing, and when we can remember, our own self-care.

It’s easy to forget all the stories you had to live through to get here, the experiences that shaped you, and made you who you are today.

What are some key moments from your life? Experiences you no longer think about? Share your story! ❤︎

For a lot of us, LIFE came tumbling in before we got a chance to discover who we really are.

You can hit the pause button or you can totally slow your Life down at any time.
This is me, slowing down & hitting pause-
through blogging.

I wasn’t always this self-aware and deliberate about my life. I was too busy self-hating and hiding my past. Too busy feeling like an . . .

Why would I say this? Because most of us have no real practice in daily, deliberate and uninterrupted acts of self-love. A new year begins.
